Region: The South
Mount Yishai and the Window Waterfall
Only in Israel can I drive about an hour from my home on a forested mountain and stumble upon a landscape like this. This hike around Mount Yishai was an incredible journey through quintessentially exotic Israeli scenery.
Nahal Dragot – The Circular Route
It’s nice to know that there are really formidable hikes in Israel. Hikes that take you to otherworldly places, the stuff of fairy tales.
Holot Nitzanim – Sand Surfing to the Beach
My kids took turns executing running jumps from the top of the high dunes, knowing that they would land in the soft sand below. They trudged slowly up the sand hill, then ran down as fast as momentum could carry them.
Nahal Lachish Park Walk
To get close to the sea, you had to get wet.. Soaked sweatshirts came off and pants were rolled up. And the children raced towards the waves, splashing in chilly sheer joy.
