We were looking for an easy and adventurous desert hike. We got that, plus a surprise desert oasis, lots of amazing animal sightings, and beautiful Dead Sea views throughout.
Special Feature: Desert
Mount Yishai and the Window Waterfall
Only in Israel can I drive about an hour from my home on a forested mountain and stumble upon a landscape like this. This hike around Mount Yishai was an incredible journey through quintessentially exotic Israeli scenery.
Nahal Dragot – The Circular Route
It’s nice to know that there are really formidable hikes in Israel. Hikes that take you to otherworldly places, the stuff of fairy tales.
Nahal Og – Climbing Canyon Walls
The texture of the rock walls is striking – smooth and soft in some places, brown and bumpy in others. I hear the bird calls so crisp, echoing around in the silence.
Enot Tsukim and the Hidden Reserve
Enot Tsukim is a site that’s loved by many. The best way to explore it is to seek out the parts of the park that remain pristine and untouched in their desert spring beauty.
