Do you know the joy of bringing a child to this world?
Or the helplessness, the pain and the worry?

I knock. No one answers. I try the door.  It is locked.  I look at Simcha. I panic.

There came my son, sending forth his own strength to support me in my weakness, “You can do this, Ima.  Keep going.”

I know that you never imagined that today, you would be celebrating by entering a war zone, a first foray into hostile Hamas territory.  I sure didn’t.

And now here we are back in reality… It’s war time in Israel. Everything feels so gloomy and dark.
