Pesach Family Survival Skills Workshop #2 in Central Israel

Thursday, April 21th at 9:00 AM: Join us for a survival skills workshop with expert adventure guide Ben Zaltzman.  In this Pesach themed workshop in Central Israel in the Ayalon Valley, Ben will teach your family skills that may have been used to survive for 40 years in the desert (like building a fire without lighters or matches, basketweaving from natural substances, mud crafts, and more)!

Enjoy the Holiday of Springtime (Chag HaAviv) in a beautiful natural area in the Ayalon Forest, away from all of the crowds.  After a little walk through nature, we’ll reach our Hiking the Holyland “camp” where you’ll get to relax and learn new skills in nature in a fun group setting.  The guided nature workshop is best suited for kids ages 8-14, but kids of all ages can enjoy this fun-filled day outdoors.  We’ll make sure there’s something there for everyone!

After the workshops, we’ll gather round the bonfire and roast some (Kosher for Pesach, non-kitnyot) marshmallows while listening to some stories of freedom, springtime, and nationhood.

This event will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 21th.

Hiking Guides

  • Ben Zaltzman
    Ben Zaltzman

My name is Ben Zaltzman, I’m a tour guide and a hiker in Israel who leads people on trails around the country.
I fell in love with nature at a young age.
While exploring the wide open spaces of nature, I came to know that it was the place where I belong.
A question I ask during our journeys is, “What happens to me in nature?”
I found secret hiking trails, discovered magical corners in the country, and have been guiding others through my experiences.
The trips I lead are about nature connection, the power of being in nature, and the changing environment.
I’m an expert at long-distance hikes. I hiked for 6 month along the Pacific Crest Trail in the US, and have gone on lots of other journeys in Israel and abroad.
    Education:
Tour guiding course of the ministry of tourism, birdwatching course (Israeli SPN), educational tours (ministry of education), Storytelling, hunter-gatherers life skills, group dynamics leader, tour educator (on Birthright), Nature cure & connection journey.
