Judean Desert Adventure: Nahal Og to the Jericho Lookout

Friday, January 28th at 9:00 AM: Join Hiking the Holyland and expert guide Arky Staiman on a Judean Desert Adventure!

Together, we’ll be tackling 30 foot climbing ladders as we explore a spectacular desert valley at Nahal Og.  Experience a full body challenge as we climb the canyon walls along this circular trail in Judea.  Nahal Og is well known for fun climbing, but it is also an area of pristine natural beauty.  Birds and animals make their home in the shadows of the alabaster canyon.  Along the end of the trail, we’ll take in unbeatable views out to the Dead Sea.

Next, we’ll drive 10 minutes to the next stop in the adventure: an underground army bunker from the 1967 war.  We’ll hear the story of this old army bunker as explore.  Then, we’ll move along to an incredible desert lookout at Mitzpe Yericho, overlooking a vista to where the Jews’ nationhood began in ancient Jericho.  We’ll wrap up with this jaw-dropping view at 12:30 PM.

This moderate level desert adventure will include a challenge, natural beauty, and a deep dive into history.  Explore the Judean Desert with the safety of a group and a guide.  What more could you want out of a Friday morning?

Contact us for a discount for couples.  A carpooling sheet will be provided upon sign up to help you arrange ride sharing to the hike.  We reserve the right to cancel at any time for a full refund.
