Israel Trail 7th Segment: Upper Nahal Amud
Sunday, October 23rd: Come join us on our epic journey along the Israel Trail, with the 7th segment, at Upper Nahal Amud!
On this especially beautiful 11 kilometer segment of the Israel Trail, we’ll be hiking through Nahal Amud, with a chance to dip into refreshing pools. After a cup of hot coffee to start the day, we’ll take in the beauty of the stream, and the picturesque structures that were built alongside it during the British Mandate period (like an old flour mill, crumbling bridges, and more). Then, we’ll exit the main park and continue through the wilder side of Upper Nahal Amud. This part of the day will be the most challenging, as we ascend and descend over rocky terrain above the stream, through a mixture of sun and shade. The last part of our journey will take downhill over flatter terrain, all the way to the entrance of Lower Amud Stream. We’ll celebrate the completion of the 7th segment with a glass of wine and some snacks!
Minibus transportation available from Savidor Station (price determined based on # of participants, 110-140 NIS). Please note: there will be a couple of ladders and some stepping rungs during the middle section of the hike. This is a challenging hike for fit hikers only. This is a popular hike, so please reserve your spot early!
To enter Nahal Amud Nature Reserve, you’ll need to pay an entrance fee or bring your Matmon card.
10% discount available if you pay for 4 Israel Trail hikes at once!
