Israel Trail #45: Tel Arad & Yatir Winery
Sunday, January 11th: Join Hiking the Holyland and our expert guide for a 10 kilometer, 45th segment of the Israel Trail to Tel Arad and Yatir Winery
We’ll start the day in southern Israel, on the trail through the desert from Yatir to Arad, enjoying a hot cup of coffee and an intro on the way. The trail will take us past seasonal sights and winter wildflowers towards Tel Arad, an incredible national park with a fascinating history. We’ll stop there for a complete tour of the area. The last part of the day will take us to Yatir Winery, where we will enjoy a wine and cheese tasting at an amazing desert winery.
For fit hikers. Minibus transportation available from Savidor Station for an extra fee of 110-140 NIS. The cost of Tel Arad (free for Matmon members, 16 adult, 8 for seniors) and Yatir winery are not included in the cost of the hike. Wine & cheese optional for a cost of 110 NIS at Yatir.

Ben ZaltzmanMy name is Ben Zaltzman, I’m a tour guide and a hiker in Israel who leads people on trails around the country.
I fell in love with nature at a young age.
While exploring the wide open spaces of nature, I came to know that it was the place where I belong.
A question I ask during our journeys is, “What happens to me in nature?”
I found secret hiking trails, discovered magical corners in the country, and have been guiding others through my experiences.
The trips I lead are about nature connection, the power of being in nature, and the changing environment.
I’m an expert at long-distance hikes. I hiked for 6 month along the Pacific Crest Trail in the US, and have gone on lots of other journeys in Israel and abroad.

Tour guiding course of the ministry of tourism, birdwatching course (Israeli SPN), educational tours (ministry of education), Storytelling, hunter-gatherers life skills, group dynamics leader, tour educator (on Birthright), Nature cure & connection journey.
